Put Them On The Scale!
Well, here is my submission.
It was an intense weekend, for sure. But I am done and satisfied with what I got.
This is my first Game Jam and, also, my first "finished project".
I wasn't expecting much, but I am actually surprised by how much I got out of it. Unfortunately, there is so much time and patience someone can gather.
The idea was to create a simple (only if I knew) game about a mad scientist who created the "Greatest Scale in The World". But no one believed him. So, to prove that his invention work, he was going to use his amazing Matter Manipulator to put everything around him on the scale until he reached the moon!
This idea played with the Jam's theme by adding a twist on the scale part, and also by creating this huge tower of everything around you. I was picturing it as a tetris meets Katamari Damacy.
I think the ideia was pretty neat, I even had some good fun messing around with just this prototype. But the reality is that you can't even finish it.
Next day edit: With some last minute changes, I was able to make the game finishable! It might not trigger correctly, but I am happy that I could gather a little more energy and put it into this.
Continuing:
I just uploaded the 'game' because I am very much done with just waiting for the perfect moment and the perfect project. So, here it is! Not much. But is what I could do for now.
If you want to play, the controls are simple:
- Point the mouse and left click to capture a car or person (you can't grab the same object again - so, if you release the left mouse button, that's it lol)
- Mouse wheel to rotate the object (while grabbing it)
Try to balance everything on the scale.
Any comments or tips on how to be more prepared, better organizational skills (specially with the codebase - that thing just grew out of control), and any other general stuff is very much welcome – I use Godot, if you have some good info to share.
Thank you for visiting and reading my little rant/relief texting.
PS: Don't expect sounds. There are none lol.

If you're on Chrome and can't see the full screen like me, just increase the zoom on your browser (for me it's Ctrl and + together)!
Unfortunately, it's not working for me. The background loads and nothing happens.
I am trying this on Linux + Chrome.
I am sorry to hear that. I should have submitted a linux build but, unfortunately, this is completely out of my control now. I will be taking this into consideration in my next entries. Thanks for commenting!
No worries. The Jam requirements were Windows. This is why I have not put any rating. Just wanted to give a heads up in case you want to improve it in the future.
I love the art on this!
I can't take credit for anything besides the badly cropped scale, some modulating, one of the fonts and the gradient in the background. But the assets are very cool. Thanks for commenting!
